What a waste. Broke into the first team before Dele. What happened? Robbo and Neilson spoke about the ability but a lack of work rate. Wonder if it was attitude or maybe mental health problems that a lot of players speak of now?
I always wanted him to come good and I remember that dead rubber game under Neilson where he played as a holding midfielder I was so impressed with his confidence in spraying a first time pass and I hoped he would kick on. But there you go

He didn’t have an attitude problem. If he did he’d not have got the contract extensions.

I reckon his issue was that he developed physically at an early age. When he transitioned to men's football he could no longer rely on that physical advantage, and never adapted.
