Perhaps the issue is a perception one - when he joined it was said he's a wing back. Clearly he can't defend at all. But in an attacking, aggressive team (which we are hopefully becoming) he offers a lot. Swindon won't have enjoyed playing him, that's for sure.
I agree he may not be the fastest thing on legs but he's quicker than most L2 defenders. And if he's already running when the ball is passed to him, he will usually skin his man. He seems to be a little slower from a standing start is all.
I've been thinking about and his leg speed is quick but they are short so may not be covering as much ground as quickly it appears .......it may be that I missed it but didn't really see him skin anyone yesterday to be honest
Is the cut inside instead if immediate cross thing a coaching instruction do you think? SL talks vaguely about something similar from corner play so wondered if he has been told not square it straight away when he has a break?
