Take That - Stadium MK last Thursday

Fabulous being part of this transformation of S:MK, and what an amazing job. Unbelievable seeing the Cowshed turned into a giant Pac-Man type stage, complete with fireworks, floor to roof flame jets and a guest appearance from Lulu

Whilst I was joining Mrs OFD for this one and did rather have that gate crasher feeling, as soon as the music started I was taken in. I wasn't really sure what to expect but in fairness this was a hugely professional event on a grand scale, not the take-the money-and-run opportunity I had feared. I probably won't ever press play on a Take That track, but the boys do really know how to put on a wonderful show - much to the hysteria of the 30,000 crowd

Add to that I was able to stand in the centre circle enjoying a drink whilst taking all of this in, it all adds up to one fantastic evening. Huge congratulations S;MK, job well done

:D

Gladys Knight at Blenheim Palace, with support from Gabriel and Disco Classical with Sister Sledge (well, one of them and her daughter)

Amazing venue for a stomping evening, running through from a six o'clock start to an eleven o'clock finish with a big firework finale. Our first time at Blenheim Palace for a concert, but definitely somewhere we would go back to again

Gladys herself was wonderful, simply impossible to believe she is 75, what an utter legend

I love Blenheim too. Serious question, but where about do they actually hold the concert? Is it on the approach to the Palace (sic) itself?

It's right in front of the Palace in the gravel courtyard, which makes the atmosphere really special - some good pics and info here:

Just booked for Heaven 17 in March at the Roundhouse

A rare treat as they will be performing Reproduction and Travelogue albums from Martyn Ware's days with the Human League, plus other H17 stuff

I just can't believe this is all 40 years old

:D

Attended Citadel day festival on Sunday 14th in Gunnersbury Park.

Great day out in the sunshine listening to Friendly Fires, DMa's, Bastille and Catfish and the Bottlemen, the last two were particularly good. Easy to access to the front of the stage at this small friendly festival, plenty of choice of good (overpriced) food and many other bands and activities to see/do, all of which I missed. Dead easy to park relatively nearby without restrictions on a Sunday.
And if you waited to get tickets until the end of May you could have taken up Ticketmaster's flash sale 2 for 1 offer, all this for £20 a head, what's not to like.

The only massive drawback was they only sold Carlsberg and cider, not an ale in sight.
