True Grit - the Coen Bros.

Excellent. Many scenes are word for word remakes of the John Wayne original. But the female lead is superb. And Jeff Bridges is a great Rooster Cogburn. Well worth watching.

I call that bold talk for a one eyed fat man, as Brando once said to me.

Bad Times at the El Royale - a mysterious selection of strangers meet at the California/Nevada hotel with unexpected and violent consequences. Complex, edge of your seat 60s film noir that just oozes style. Brilliantly shot and acted, it refuses to go over the top and keeps the suspense going throughout. Pure class from Jeff Bridges, one of the best films I have seen this year

Bohemian Rhapsody.

Beautiful. Very enjoyable time at the flicks. The Wembley Live Aid stuff was absolutely breathtaking. Remi Malek was incredible as Freddie and the others were well cast too.

Loved it.

Serious question. Do you need to like Queen’s music to enjoy the movie? Because I don’t. But I liked Freddie.

Fully agreed - just got back from seeing it, beautiful is very much the word - and very much the Freddie story. Chronological biopics can be a little slow and this does have a few slower moments, but for me that didn't matter

I got stick from the family because I found very emotional

I wouldn't say so as Freddie is the star - as Alby said a masterclass from Rami Malek

Does he sing any Queen songs, because that would be a massive problem for me?

Not really. Queen are prominent but it’s clearly Freddie’s story but Queen are a big part of Freddie’s story so makes sense.

He is beautifully flamboyant. Entertaining as hell.
