Accept "Dropping the Dons" if it was a pre-condition of someone putting significant investment in the club?

As I've only been going since the Hockey Stadium days and on a personal level I don't like the name I've always felt the Dons part has to be decided by those that came up from Wimbledon, and I know they have strong feelings about it by them so I'll leave it to them.

I’m astounded anyone would say yes.

We have a few reactionary types, and you can add that the registration on here has never been watertight exactly.

There was one young lad who was very vociferous over it on the old site (before everyone seemed to pop us with new usernames at one of the "re-launches").

Used to see him at loads of away games. Not seen him for at least a couple of seasons. Possibly binned it.

Completely this.

There is definitely an element of "it's not our decision to make" from many.

I'm in that camp too, but I'll push a little harder to continue the debate. If you take the point that most (but not all) things in life have a price 'tipping point', how many £10m's of outside investment into the club would it take for most fans to switch view or is it a complete 'red line never'. If so, I wonder if it is also the same for Pete?

Do you actually think if we dropped the Dons, it would encourage someone to come in with pots of cash to invest in the club ?

I think it from the other point of view. Keeping it COULD discourage someone, and they might be the one who is prepared to invest - investors aren't exactly going be queuing up, given the complexity of the fixed assets they'd be (or not be) investing in, which is why the intangible assets (including the brand) are so, so important. If I invest in a brand I'd want it as untarnished as possible.

Likely that would be a requirement, unless a Norbiton fan with bags of money did it just so we could drop the Dons :?

Yeah, haven't seen him for quite some time. I'm guessing he moved for work, given some of the things he said on Moocamp.

BTW, it's a big NO from me. Unless we change it to MK Cuntz. I would support that.
