Didn’t the manager go along with most of the team early in the season?

It’s been an uphill battle for them ever since, no real backing, relegation was almost a certainty

Yeah I think they dropped down the league system to join the more ambitious "Real Bedford" set up.

Just the 11-0 defeat today. Quite what it does for the poor girls most of whom are 15 i don't know.

Good news.

Feels like something seriously went wrong last year. Whispers over cosches and players' relationships with the club and most fucked of to Real Bedford.
This will be exciting for the club, and the girls of MK and surrounding areas that we can take it seriously again

I'm glad that this has finally happened. I was pushing for this when I was a SET Trustee as I couldn't envision the women's team growing under the wings of a Charity. To grow it needed investment and the league that they were in this season was mostly semi pro, being an amateur team funded by a Charity was only going to end one way. I've posted on here before that to go semipro will cost between £100K and £150K so this is another big investment from our new owners.

Great news that the club are taking control of the first team. Is there any reason why they’ve left the women’s academy and age group teams with the SET though? Is that purely to secure the funding for them as a charity? Surely the long term plan would be to bring the whole set up under club control?

Possibly a gradual approach? Get the team back to a stable state and then look more towards the youth development.

Yeah, it seems that way. I’m just curious as to why they’ve not quite fully committed at this stage.

Anyway, let’s go and get back all the players Real Bedford stole off us.

Frankly I'm out of touch with regards female academies structure and funding. It was way behind that of the males and I'd assume that it's still in its infancy so our one remaining under the SET wouldn't be a drawback. Our owners are focussed on moving our male academy to Cat 2 and I'd expect any investment into an academy would be channel in this direction.

Maybe Charlie Bill will get the same persuasive treatment as Paul Warne
