Petrol stations where some bloke (never a woman) was on the forecourt to serve you.

Foot baths before you went into a swimming pool. Guaranteed to kill verrucas, athletes foot, ingrowing toenails, fungal infection, and all other dodgy feet things.

Or spread them.
I used to work at Beckenham Baths back in the late 70s/early 80s and those little footbaths (3 of em at BB) had no special 'sanitiser' in it all. Basically a tray with water in it. If the plug wasn't removed then the water in it didn't get changed. Lawd knows what was breeding in there.

Beckenham Baths.....Right up until the early 80s you could pay to have a bath. Pay to buy soap.
Pay to hire a towel.
Pay to hire swimming trunks.
Cleaning a bath after a hire was not usually a pleasant task let me tell ya.

As an Impartial onlooker who votes for neither of the main two, I imagine we'll soon be hearing very similar about Labour now that they're back in charge.

The whole "we were / we'd be" much better with a Labour government gets said a lot when they're out of power. Whenever they are the government, it all seems to get forgotten as all you'll soon hear, to an increasing level, are the negatives and the complaints about how "they're all the same - incompetent idiots, self serving, etc".

Thats how the Tories then get back in almost by default. Only for people to then positively look back / forward to Labour being in charge again.

If things are going to be a lot better under Labour, then we should be hearing plenty of positivity on the news, current affairs / satirical shows, etc, about it. Instead, it'll be just as negative and cynical as usual, just with some fresh new targets.

Labour have an uphill battle for sure. Might not even be possible to repair the damage done by the conservatives.

I do fear the general public wants something new and is partly the reason Reform got a lot of votes. Plus also due to the British public being far more stupid than I ever imagined.

I predict Reform being at least the opposition next time around, plunging us into an era of fascism before returning to Lab/con when people realise that is far from the answer. History will always repeat itself.

The right wing media will do their best to discredit them by twisting the truth at every turn. (That's an objective fact not the start of a rant.)

Just like the left wing media have done to the Conservatives.

There are at least three political threads open, so I'd appreciate it if we could now leave this twee little bauble free of it. Thanks.
