Looks like another great signing. Proven at this level and bags of potential.

With me coming from Maidstone I couldn't be happier

Great signing for the Dons, and weakens the Gills

Couldn't be a better result

Charlton's forum is worth a read, they were linked with him too and a few not too happy they missed out to us.

Great signing and a good bit of business by the club

Bloody good signing. Sweeting keeps proving himself, we already have Darling’s replacement in the building and if he ends up staying (yes, I known it’s unlikely) then we are almost sorted at the back.

I have to say I know very little about him as a player and I'm not going to pretend otherwise but he seems to tick a lot of boxes. On the Sweeting spreadsheet, wanted by Championship clubs, a good age to develop and individual success in a terrible Gillingham team.

This does feel a bit like Twine coming in last season. We wanted both him and Fraser but accepted Fraser may move on.

Thought the same in that we have most likely beat a lot of clubs to this signing, just as we did with Twine last summer. I don't doubt some of the top League 1 teams and potentially championship teams were after him.

I feel that at the moment, with any young player looking to move on and develop their career, we will be top of the list more times than not. Our reputation is huge in that respect at the moment. It's great seeing all the sour grapes on twitter as well . It's like people still don't get why players sign for us....

Anyone else disappointed with him so far?

Still seems ingrained in him to play the Gillingham way, a few games now where he consistently just smashes the ball clear instead of staying composed and finding a pass, and doesn't look overly comfortable playing out from the back either.

For a Darling replacement he's nowhere near the level he needs to be, yet to see any real strengths to his game.

But, early days, I hope Manning is going to sit down with him and iron out these issues and he starts to raise his game.

I actually thought he was brilliant against Wednesday. Probably our best player.

But in every other game, tonight included, he just looks so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet. Some of the passes into midfield were suicide passes, straight to Port Vale.

In saying that, I thought O'Hora and Lewington also looked uncomfortable, which is very unlike them. I really think they all much suit a back 3 better (as they all looked better once we switched) and now that we're surely moving to back to that for the foreseeable, hopefully we'll see more performances like Sheff Wed.
