I guess it's also, partly, how our brains are wired, what interests us and what we were taught at school. I could name most PMs back to 1902 (with many before that but not in the right order). Probably 25+ POTUS (but not in order, at least before 20th C). And I'd have a good stab at British monarchs back to the middle ages. I'd name most but would get a lot in the wrong order, prior to the Georgians.

As you all know I do youth work so our focus for January was on Kings/Queens/Emporers, so for our 4 meets with picked a nationality and looked at their history- did French, British, Spanish and then random nations/Chinese emporers.

I knew so, so little so despite being 28 I was learning everything as I went! I had heard of a few things but nowhere near the level what I thought I would going into it- and I'm talking basic info!

I genuinely didn't realise how many royals in history got married between 10-15... considering I was talking to 8-11 year olds, it was just baffling!

One of the groups is a word one - anagrams, add/change/remove a letter, that type of thing.

The other group has a TV connection. Not one that I'm overly proud of, but the walls cover both highbrow and lowbrow. This is lowbrow.

I know from Googlebox that someone called Stacey Solomon is partnered with a guy called Joe Swash, who I saw on Masterchef. So I'm guessing it's reality TV peeps...

A pedantic point. There isn't a crow called just "crow"... Of the 8 British native crows, there is a carrion crow and a hooded crow. Then the chough, rook, raven, magpie, jay, jackdaw.

OK let's start filtering out the red herrings :D

Turner. Constable. Stubbs. Reynolds. All famous British artists. Turner and Constable were contemporaries, as were the earlier Stubbs and Reynolds. However, there was a period, late in the 18thC, when they were all active at the same time.
