I wonder if there'll be a proportion of football fans worried about new variants that will still want to stay local and not do away matches though?

Will be very interesting to see whether the EFL carries on with live match streaming on iFollow for a while, just to cater for those who don't feel ready to go back into grounds yet.

That's what I was getting at. It's absolutely fair enough that those that want to get back into stadiums should be allowed to do so. I just want to make sure those who don't feel up to it don't get left behind.

The issue then is how to stop lazy folk like me from streaming it online when I can't be arsed to drive two and a half hours each way to stadium:mk on a Tuesday night

Going back a little bit to the talk of mask wearing. I'm now seriously debating whether to carry on wearing them in shops / public transport long-term.
Yes, COVID is becoming less of an issue, but I also haven't had a cold in over a year, which has been fantastic.

I'm with you on that one. However, although continuing to wear a mask might help in a small way, the main impact is (and has been) those already having a cold virus continuing to wear their mask. That doesn't sound very likely for the majority beyond the 19th.

I didn't think of it that way. A mask could be a reasonably effective protection against other stuff you pick up every year.

Yes, COVID is becoming less of an issue, but I also haven't had a cold in over a year, which has been fantastic.

The flip side to that coin is that if you try and protect yourself from getting colds and other things over and above 'normal' ways, your immune system may not be as strong to fend them off in the longer term.

Having said that, more people who know they've got colds, etc., will probably now mask up when they know they're ill, and that's a good thing overall IMO.

We were talking about it last night, and both me and my wife have decided that in shops etc' we're going to continue to wear one for the time being.

Surely anyone who has had two jabs doesn’t need to worry too much.

1) True, but there's still a chance, and it's up to people to decide what risks they find tolerable and what they don't
2) It's not just covid, I'm thinking about how much less other germs I'm now picking up which is quite nice
