So the colour group is solved. I can't yet see the fourth connection to help rule out the red herrings for the Frank / Sci Fi Writers groups. But how about...?

Frank... - Oz, Herbert, Gehry, Beard?

Sci Fi Writers - Banks, Clarke, Aldiss, Ballard / Wyndham?
