I told you all the wet AFC old guard had flounced off to Blue Sky with a dramatic exit.

Welcome back. :D

"Yes," said Owl, looking Wise and Thoughtful. "I see what you mean. Undoubtedly."

"Well?" asked Rabbit

"Exactly," said Owl. "Precisely." And he added, after a little thought, "If you had not come to me, I should have come to you."

"Why?" asked Rabbit.

"For that very reason," said Owl, hoping that something helpful would happen soon.

Just wondering if anyone is still on X after this weekend?

And just as an aside. It hasn’t taken long on Bluesky for spam accounts to start popping up. Just blocked three this morning alone.

It seems Musk is ready to liberate the UK :?

https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/ ... nt-387969/

Just as the Trumps are ready to take control of Greenland and Canada

https://www.novinite.com/articles/23017 ... cquisition

https://www.outlookindia.com/internatio ... unces-exit

It reminds of the old joke that US are ashamed that they were late for the last two world wars that they are determined to be early for the third one.

I don't get why Musk is so obsessed with the UK? He's a Saffer with Canadian and US citizenship. We're a mid-table developed country, slowly slipping down the league. We're not the biggest market for his cars, his rockets or his social media platform, so what gives? Why does he care that we've locked up a vile racist rabble-rouser?

Did a Brit flush his head down the bog at school?

He's gotten even bigger with his brown nosing of Trump and his switch in views and simply wants to continue that wave, jumping on the bandwagon of those unhappy with how things are going and what looks like the worldwide shift to the right (Canada is following suit with the US it seems). If he can push the UK in his direction like he did for the USA, then the smarmy git will love it before moving on to the next one.

It's about relevancy and power for him, that's all.

My not so hot take is as follows; He is a billionaire so naturally he fears the well developed employment/workers rights laws put in place by the EU. The UK shares these laws much to his chagrin. He wants to see them repealed but knows that a Labour Government would be highly unlikely to allow such a thing. His response is to attack that same Government to undermine their credibility, win favour with the opposition and support his preferred political system (don't buy it? Check out his role in the American election). He cares not for Britain specifically, but just sees it as an opportunistic target to meddle with something he doesn't like. A tweet (fuck X) takes him like 2 seconds to draft and post but when you have his wealth and resources the impact goes far. His methods are crude but effective, mainly because people are dumb.

Basically he's after world domination. He read 1984 and Mein Kampf and thought they were both good ideas.
