I am a obsessed Football Manager nutjob and will be applying for the MK Dons job once Warne gets sacked or leaves.

I'm very tempted by the next one mainly because Bedford Town will be playable without modding in the rest of the non league pyramid

It's taking long enough!

I have also got back into FM24 over the last couple of days (mainly to fuel my fix now the season is over).

I downloaded a latest squad patch. I also downloaded a tactic and installed that. Might be the most broken tactic I've ever used. After 18 league games as MK Dons, I'm top of the league having lost just one game. I'm also through to the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup having knocked out both Villa and Forrest.

I didnt think baldurs gate 3 could be topped but this is just a ridiculously well made, engaging game.

Story/narrative is excellent. Its very very old school in the sense it doesnt spoon feed you with the map. It slmost emplores you to take notes as you play.

If theres a better game this year i will be very, very surprised.

Imo the first 10 of the year.

That's my weekend plan sorted then

Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the best game I've ever played so far. Oblivion second, then the Mass Effect games. I'm a sucker for open world RPGs, but often I'll play them once for the story, and a second time to sweep up all the stuff I missed, and that's it. Baldur's Gate 3 though, I've done 7 playthroughs and loved every single one. Probably has some of the best written characters I've ever come across, in any form of media. Cannot recommend it enough.

I'm like Alby, not so fussed about the online stuff. Loved GTA 4 and GTA 5, so looking forward to GTA 6 when it finally comes out, although that's been put back to next year. Saw something yesterday showing the timeline for GTA releases - 16 years from the original up to GTA 5, then a 13 year gap up to the new release date for GTA 6, presumably because there became so much focus on online content for GTA5 after its release. Sadly GTA 5 eventually broke the PS3.

Still love a classic like Mario Kart, and they have done a good job of updating that over the years without losing the fun elements of gameplay which made it so popular in the first place.

Really wish someone would bring back sensible soccer. Nothing better than a 15-12 win in a 3 minutes a half match!

I think GTA V put me back on gaming. I just couldn't get into it like previous installments - and the online mode never felt like the same game to me. I dabbled in it and gave up quickly. Not my cup of tea at all. And I feel like it's the first big era of gaming I missed - I didn't ever make memories from GTA V like a lot of many millions of people did. But I remember long nights in the airport of GTA IV with my friends.
Speaking of GTA - Since Christmas I've completed GTA San Andreas for probably the 50th time having previously completed Vice City last Summer. Got my hands on my girlfriends old PS3 and brought GTA IV - And the right trigger is broken on the controller  pretty damn important button. So I need to invest in a new controller but I'm shocked how expensive they are for a 20 year old console.

It was GTA IV that got me back into gaming for a while. Loved the missions, and I got the add on games too, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Not so keen on The Lost and Damned, but the Ballad of Gay Tony was good, but neither quite as good as GTA IV base game.

I'll have a check whether we've still got the controllers for the old PS3 at home. The motherboard overheated on the console due to the size of map on GTA V, but there was nothing wrong with the controllers. If I find them I'll let you know, but knowing the Mrs she'll have thrown them out some time ago.

If you're looking for a chill single player game, I've just got into Stardew Valley. It's simple but incredibly addictive. Probably not for everyone but I find it's nice to have a break from competitive online games sometimes.
