This is after what must have been a really enjoyable start to the season at Nuneaton(?) where he was regularly playing in the team with his eldest son.

The weird thing for me is that about fifteen years ago I worked with Robert Rock’s wife, so I always looked out for his results. He had a bit of success too, but never quite made it to the top of the game, despite a couple of European Tour wins. Anyway, his career was all but finished but like any good golfer he kept plugging away and entered the wild card events to try and get a place at the big tournaments. A great story in itself that he’s made the US Open.
