Carlisle fan here. MW has just joined us and in his first game achieved the impossible of getting a win and a clean sheet. Things we thought only existed in fairy stories. When he first joined MKD you guys went on a 10-week run where you didn't lose. That came to an end on New Year's Day. By the end of the season, you were shipping goals like crazy. What changed? Why did it go wrong?
Thanks for your help

Sounding familiar already after last night:-

"Got back to the car after the game, switched Radio Cumbria on to hear James Phillips’ interview with Williamson…if I hadn’t been to the game I’d have sworn we’d have won. “so proud of the players in that 2nd half…” “Worked their socks off…” I can’t explain how much this blind faith and bluster winds me up"

Yeah we went on a 10 week run unfortunately for you that doesn't look like happening at Carlisle, I suspect you are in for a rollercoaster of emotions over the coming weeks. I am sure there will be signs of good football but I wouldn't be confident you will shoot up the table.

I'm listening to the Brunton Bugle podcast when he got announced right now and one of the first things one of the cohosts states is to take our words as MK fans with a pinch of salt.

2 weeks later and it's already looking like some Carlisle fans are saying exactly the same things as we did.

Listen to his post match interviews on YouTube. Could be cut and paste from any defeat down the line with us, and it's pretty embarrassing.. people often make out that you can't take anything from interviews but you bloody well can, he's a gormless dud and gives you nothing to get behind.

Bang on the money

I gave him more time/leeway than many when it started to go wrong.... Boy was I wrong

Tactically naive and a lack of charisma .....in 3 years or less I suspect Mike Will not be a coach of any professional or even semi professional side

He is an one note as a hummingbird and people sussed him out quite quickly. There is little deviation if you are winning or losing, which is fine when you play on a big pitch and have space, but we found out that when the pitches are narrower we can't play the way we do as we were closed down so quickly. Also, he may have gone on that run, but not many of the wins were fully convincing. You will win some, maybe even more than you lose, but the games you do lose will be so frustrating that at some point you have to question his managerial ability to adapt.

At least you can be proud of the lads' endeavour, effort and desire every time you get slapped
