With Bloomfield on his way to Luton, some Wycombe fans on their forum are seriously suggesting they should make a move for Russell Martin. Talk about delusions of grandeur...

Honestly, I think with them having money they're right to be ambitious. Especially top of League One - they're an attractive proposition and he started his career there.
He won't go there but I don't see why you can't be ambitious

There's ambition, and then delusion. Though granted in football it's a thin line between the two.

Has snake been mentioned at all for the vacant West Brom job?

Half of those forum were talking about Steven Schumacher and Ryan Lowe when we were borderline relegation zone of League Two a few months ago so I don't think we're a bunch to talk

Alan Smith signing for us when on 60k a week at Newcastle

Sven as manager and Campbell as player to Notts County (although the money turned out to be fake)

He wont sign for Wycombe, but I agree, its far from delusional.

Russ will want a Championship club - how many will be willing to risk his suicidal football, especially after having sacked a manager thus usually meaning they're in danger I don't know

He’d be a perfect fit for High Wycombe. They’re a bunch of ladybits, and so is he.

Quite. We're an extremely delusional fanbase. Hence why I spoke about the thin line in general terms within football.

But back to Wycombe - when was the last time a manager was sacked in the PL and within a month went to L1? People can talk all they want about RM's brand of "suicidal football", well that football got Southampton promoted to the top flight. Mid table C'ship clubs would queue for RM.

I dont disagree - I'm not saying Wycombe getting Russ is remotely likely. I'm praising the ambition.

But let's talk hypothetically.. a team at the bottom, Luton being a great example wont have any interest in a manager that'll likely get the relegated by gifting sides goals and chances.
A team near the top for whatever reason won't be queuing up for Russ either because it's a huge risk and even if it were successful we saw how suicidal it was this very season with a newly promoted side.
Any of the middle pack desirable? Those with lesser budgets? Which was an issue at Swansea as it were..?
