Why though? He was less successful than Williamson and we gave Williamson the summer despite the warning signs and he still continued on a downward slope into the following season.

We'll never know obviously, and there's no easy answer - you can only go on the facts and the facts at the time were we had won 2 in 16 (or whatever it was) and had dropped from 3rd to 16th/18th (I can't remember). This exactly. Until the club and fans get on the same page. And don't start moaning and leaving from half-time onwards and get behind the players and manager it'll be league 2 forever. Seen it all before at bigger clubs who found themselves in leagues they thought they were bigger than

Steve Evans sacked by Rotherham after yesterday's game.

He'd be a great appointment. He turned a turgid Stevenage around nicely. Top bloke too.

He'll probably go to Gills
