Shambles by the club how that was handled.

Hate to end on a negative note but me and my family amongst loads of Dons fans went to the same entrance accessible to the Ballroom before the game - the same way we always go in via the hotel entrance to be told we aren't allowed... couldn't say goodbye to the captain because of a few jobsworths who wouldn't let us walk up the stairs.

Either false advertising or poor organisation. Or, both.

Really really disappointed to be turned away on such a big day for no good reason when we were told we were allowed to be there.

Obvs it's disappointing but if you had a problem take it up through the proper channels rather than criticising front-line staff for simply doing their jobs!

If fans were supposed to be allowed in, then those staff have either been briefed incorrectly, or aren't doing their jobs properly.

Either way, he's right to bring it up.

Yes, it's a big disappointment. The staff could have checked and helped, but instead saw fans as the problem, to be simply dismissed.

Bit confused, I had an email overnight Friday to Saturday saying it wouldn’t be open post game? Ballroom that is…

Did they say different elsewhere?

I'm not annoyed at staff doing their job. I'm annoyed at "the club" handling it poorly. As stated at the start of the post.

Whilst complaining to the club might help - it really won't if we missed what we wanted to be.

The email I received with the match guide said ballroom open to all after full time. Won't let me post screen shot as too big??

I'll go out on a limb a bit here , there was also a large scale event in the arena with 1300 guests , a lot of whom were staying in the hotel and met outside gate 6 for the evening part of the event at 6pm , all of the stewards in the ground, their shift ends at 5.15pm,anything after that is then overtime ,the last game of the season is also problematic because people want to try and get pics and autographs etc but the stadium needs to be cleared and the stands then have to be checked for anything left behind or suspicious .
I don't know what the answer is really. maybe an open training session where the players then get to meet the fans ?

I dont think it's a coincidence that lots of people headed there afterwards expecting to be able to go in - and the answer of "you should've walked around the concourse" is null and void because any given game you try to go around the concourse/into club red youre not allowed. If youre told something is available and you go in via the main entrance to be turned away, how's that weird?

I dont blame the stewards here or the guy on the door doing his job - i do a job where I have to say no to a lot of things where I actually agree with the "customer" saying it's ridiculous that I've said no to a simple request - it's just my job. Just that it's poorly advertised/organised.
That's on the club for lack of information passed on and transparency.
