Delighted that he's back to support our new manager. Did a fantastic job with the squad and supporting our manager in 2014-5, including :- - Our only promotion to the Championship - Outplaying Man Utd 4-0 in the cup - Delivering a squad that supported each other and a team that gelled. |

Was a superb guy and coach. One I said on a few occasions I'd have been happy to see as our head coach, before Runyak shot me down saying he never wants to be the main man again. |

My god, surely we have learnt not to get ahead of ourselves by now? I dont believe ive said thst before, happy tk be corrected by someone that has the time to go yhrough all my old posts. Ive always said ive been impressed or connect with someones interview but ive never in my mind set unrealistic expectations. In more recent times ive stuck with time and patience even in adversity. What i will say about warne and barkers tenure here is i predict we are in the championship within 3 seasons. The difference now is you can set unrealistic expectations because the concensus behind the scenes is whstever the cost, any player ghst isnt fully commited and delivering what the manager expects wont last a transfer window. Hes a lovely personable guy but his standards of effort expected and discipline are super high and non negotiable and from what ive heard the bosrd are behind him to facilitate him only working with a team that is capable and committed to delivering his plan. So remember i said: Automatic promotion next season. A year at most bedfing into league one. Promotion to the championship if we havent slready gone back to back. You might think thats unrealistic i believe hes capable, hes shown it 4 times in 9 years with the remaining years bar 1 spent in the league above. And whilst hes fully capable, he will get the backing of yhe board with a team thats capable of doing it. The transfer policy im hearing will change as well. We will only be signing players that warne wants to sign. He will be having the final say on every transfer whether they are a mix of players hes familiar with and trusts and a deep dive on players that match the metrics he needs from the scouting team but ultimately he will be approving all signings. This is a 4 year contract that barring a relegation battle from league 2 will be honoured and by year 2/3 will be s fully warne team. Which is totally fine as the succession plan is to come away from boring tippy tappy football and the board want high octane, high intensity, direct attacking football with a strong leadership and discipline culture. So shaping the squad in this way for warne will not have a knock in effect as the future msnager will aldo be s serisl winner that plays a similar style kf football. And direct doesnt mean route ine, it just means purposeful and forwards with a strong disciplined spine. |
