Just musing whether, despite all the new money that has come into the club since the sale, results on the pitch have (perversely) deteriorated by the players not having PW constantly breathing done their neck about their performance etc. Bit of a loss of player passion?

We've been shit for 3 seasons.
Last season may have been a playoff finish but we under performed. Winkelman was there.
Winkelman was there the season we got relegated.

So, no.

I think it's something to consider. Winkie was always present, often going to away games, and at home games would be interacting with the players often. I suppose it does give the players an extra something to think about.

The one thing I'm not a fan of is what Neil Hart said recently, where he was waiting for Fahad to fly back to make a decision on the manager - surely this disrupts the flow of the business, and the whole point of appointing a CEO is to assist with the day-to-day leadership.

This isn't "day-to-day" business, though. This manager appointment is so, so important. I am happy for them to wait until everyone is in town. No rush. Just get it right.

If I owned a club I would insist on being involved in recruiting my manager.

No the Club needs a structure with football people from top to bottom, lack of leadership and Pete's mates still running the place will never help.

I think it's admirable people miss elements of Pete - but we're barely 9 months into a new ownership who've hardly flexed it's muscles.
We can look back in years to come whether it was that bad or not, but as of current, this just feels like remnants of several previous regimes and not the current one - that goes for ownership, management, players...

Of all the issues, the ownership is the least of them atm.
They're taking their time over the (hopefully) right next manager for a long term gain. Let's not forget how miserable we felt in the latter times under PW.

Agree mate. Although if I'd had a few quid for every time we've said that..... ;)

They did appoint Lindsay without coming over. My take on this one is that they can't afford to make another mistake (although I still believe he was the outstanding candidate and we'd hire him again if he hadn't flopped here before).
I'm in their corner for this one and if the potential manager isn't prepared to wait and meet face to face, they aren't going to be here for the hard times we have got coming up.
