Gutted he feels he can’t chip in anymore atm, we could really do with him.

No clue how much Old Father Time’s caught up with him, but , I’d take 25% of Prime Lewie over 100% of Maguire any day of the week

Anyway, this is about Lewie.

What a career. Helped give the club an identity, a bit of class, and a face we could all be proud of. Proper servant to the badge. I’m sure the new owners will sort out a big “Thank you” on behalf of all of us .

That picture of him forcing Toby Ajala into "A Lewington" that them lot have wet themselves silly over for years will sure do the rounds, the one where he won a free kick and laughed as he usually does. Not long followed by him bundling one of their dickheads to the floor in the 6 yard box clearing way for the Heel of God to nestle into the net

Others will disagree, but I didn’t feel he got given enough of an opportunity this season to show that it was time to retire.

Of course, not privy to his training or fitness data but from what I saw this season, despite a poor game here and there, I thought overall he still looked ok.

I hope he plays in a home game before the season ends.

BBC article says "Club has something special planned" for that Grimsby game. Hopefully it includes a sub appearance at least. I will def be there as not sure I can make Swindon away.

Sad albeit not unexpected news. A remarkable servant for the club and a genuine legend. Wouldn't it be great for him to manage the academy team for a while before one day taking over as manager and steering us the the premier league (a man can dream).

We should rename the Cowshed the Lewington End.

Was Dean Lewington a one club, or two club man?

End of an era, you just don’t have this type of player anymore, one club career, a monumental contribution to this club as a player, an icon on and off the pitch, he thoroughly deserves a send off in the last home game and definitely Swindon away, orange day!
