Feels like there are quite a few players missing at the moment and not sure I’ve seen any reason given.

Carroll & Pritchard not been seen for weeks - injured or leaving?

Lewington - Has he retired?

Dennis - No mention of him returning from his loan or it being extended

Kelly and Sherring - Are they injured? Suddenly not in the squad yesterday

I guess with the transfer window open it raises suspicions, but if the rumours are true that our owner wants a lot of players in this window, I wouldn’t put it past all of the above leaving (except Lewi of course)

What about news of Leko? It should be interesting to see what he can achieve at this level.

... I've seen the last two televised games and thought exactly the same - a fit Leko with a bit of personal coaching (what to do when) would add the unpredictability that unsettles defences.

Someone mentioned illness with Kelly, Lewie just isn't seen as a regular player anymore so is more involved in the backroom I believe.
Sherring missed out yesterday but has otherwise been involved so I suspect he will be in the squad Tuesday if fit.
Leko has a lot of work to do to get match fit I imagine having been out for a year - I doubt he is in the managers plans at this stage.

They are actively trying to pay Lewington up and move him on, SL does not want him around the dressing room. I was very unhappy to hear this, but it’s true. SL doesn’t want him here. Should have a job for life here imo, and be able to leave on his own terms. I know he’s not going to play anymore, but it isn’t the way to get rid of a club legend.

Reasoning I was given was one of two, when we aren’t playing well, people ask Lewie his thoughts in the dressing room and he’s honest about it - imagine SL isn’t very fond of it. Also the fact he’s seen as a potential threat, having too much influence and control basically.

I’m not bullshitting either, just saying information I was given.

Makes sense.

Lewie shouldn't have a "job for life" if it affects the managers decision making and the team. It's a bit different to the Neilson one, he's almost certainly gonna retire soon and he shouldn't be involved in the squad if he's genuinely causing issues for the manager.

If this is true, knowing Lewie (well you know what I mean) he'll just 'dig his heels in' even more.

No idea what if anything is going on but the landscape of the club has changed a lot since Robbie Nielsen tried this, I can see Lewie having a lot less friends in high places now so if it is his time to bow out it and he doesn't want to go he would have to make a public fuss not just behind the scenes.
