Means nothing as the manager won’t have him in his 18

Means he hasn't been banished as he was under Robbie Nielsen

He’s as good as banished can be

He's not banished at all. He is just not good enough. After am absolutely mind-boggling innings, age has finally caught up with him.

This in spades. In his appearances this season (mainly in the papa John's motors trophy have been weak. Always a legend but even someday superheros have to hang up their capes

Blimey he must be bad, our stella defence let Barrow have 13 shots on goal 5 of them on target, and they only had the ball for a total of 25 minutes.

Look back at the Tooting game were we lost 3 nil and they had the ball for less than 24 minutes and had 12 shots.

Isnt it worth a try to see if he could give the defence some backbone, yes he isn't the fastest, but his knowledge and leadership could turn our season round.

Come on, they only had the ball for 40 minutes and had 14 shots, that's a shot every 2.5 minutes.

Is it really beyond the realm of possibility that the Skipper would have at least stopped a couple of the shots?

At some point we have to let him go. I think that time is now. Can you imagine if he plays and plays badly which is not beyond the realms of possibility for a 40 year old (nearly 41 year old) and he changes nothing. I mean we could also recall Jack Tucker if there is that clause in his contract. Just saying if we are THAT desperate.

What like letting the opposition have 13 shots when they only had the ball for 25 minutes? He might play as badly as that, alternatively he might not.

What we have isn't working, our other options are limited, we cant go into the transfer market, we are losing games, we need to do something, I dont think sacking the manager again will help, so what other options are there?

Going to a back four with Waller in it might help. I can't see bringing back will help. He was poor in Trophy games.

He was. He really was. And as I keep saying he is 41 at the end of May. I am sorry but there is a reason why he hasn't been near the team all season. I think Winkelman stood on sentiment, but that only takes you so far. I am at a point now whereby wheeling him out would just do more harm than good and imagine him trying to stop a 20 something winger with energy to burn. He was never blessed with pace in his younger years can you imagine him now. He will always be a hero in mine and everyones eyes of course, but to say he is our saviour defensively is just crazy.

As for back 4. Yes we should do that. We did it v Tranmere and it worked to a point. I think we just need to go back to basics and I mean real basics. flat 4. No fucking about at the back. If you have the ball you get rid of it and then reshape. None of this pass it round the back just to lose it on the half way like 10 passes later.

Right now I would play Lewington on the left given how abysmal we have been down that side. At least he hits the occasional decent cross and pass!

More realistically I suspect our season will be over by end of March after sneaking out a couple of scrappy wins , we will be settled in lower mid table. Then we can wheel Lewington out a few more times before he calls it a day at the end of the season.

He's probably still the best at 'doing a Lewington' however...
