I'd be all for Harrison staying, especially in this new style. Sadly I think we might have a job convincing him to sign a new deal given he's struggled for a run of games ever since he's been here.
Please tell us exactly what Ellis Harrison would offer us other than mindless running for 90 minutes? Time to let go of these below average fan favourites if we want to get out of this hellhole of a league.
Well, for a start he'd probably win a few headers, which is something all of our other strikers struggle to do. He also scores a decent number of goals, which again isn't something we've been particularly strong at. I don't have the numbers but his minutes-per-goal whilst he was with us must have been pretty decent.
I said it at the time we let him go, and I stand by it, he's the best all-around striker at the club. He hasn't got the finishing of Hogan, but he's a proper nuisance for defenders. I would rather see him coming off the bench late on than say Hendry or Orsi for sure.
I have to admit, I couldn't believe how many headers Hogan won yesterday! Obviously not playing to his strengths, but he did really well when we went more direct.
