I went as it seemed a momental decision not to have a supporters association and it was a tad confusing and sad.

The 1st resolution to elect officers at the meeting was defeated, which at one time was said to have closed the meeting. However, it was agreed to put the motion to disband, but this wasn't carried by 2/3rds as more abstained. There wasn't a no vote.

What I found odd, was two statements to dissolve were read out at the start of the meeting, but there was no call for comments from the floor to support or oppose, although there were some clarifications taken.[Welldon has just answered this].

My understanding is that the association is in limbo and there are only two committee members left, who didn't attend the EGM at the last moment. I assume they can call an AGM or another EGM, but if they also resign or their tenure expires, then there doesn't seem a way forward.

Can't Dons Action just become the official MKDSA?

I have no idea what the current MKDSA do, but Dons Action are far more visible.

What do we want a supporters' association to do? I've always said the same thing "I have no idea what they do". That's not to say they don't do anything, as always we just don't hear about it. Any efforts to make them more visible have clearly failed.

Perhaps the MKDSA should post a monthly accountability update that is published on the club website, or at the very least a link posted on social media to the MKDSA's website whenever it's published.

Obviously what people want from the official supporters' association differs from group to group.

I expect I'm in the same group as most - I want the supporters' association to constantly push for updates on key issues like the training ground and improvements re: matchday offerings for supporters (food/drink), away travel arrangements, ticket pricing.

Not just "we asked about it and this is what they said", but constantly pushing at the following meeting - "you said this last month, has there been any update?" etc.

I'd also like them to be a bit more "on the pulse". When there's clearly a topic being discussed amongst the fanbase which the club have stayed quiet on, the MKDSA should be raising them at the Supporters' Board meetings or even approaching the club as and when - things like an update on Moath (the last mention was the club were "investigating"), or concerns about the position of Liam Sweeting or Lewie etc.

That's how I'd want the MKDSA to be, maybe my expectations are too high.

I just don't want it to be political and people be surprised when you tell them you're not a member and don't want to be

I don’t know….but has the presence of the SB muddied the waters, are there defined lines of responsibility like who the club should deal with on different matters, is there a need for the DSA now we have the SB…….perhaps Digger or Southstander have a view on this.

So this happened last night.

I've heard second hand rumours that it was an absolute shambles, but it would be interesting to hear from someone that actually was there.

Ultimately though, the MKDSA hasn't dissolved just yet, but it's in even worse state than before...

Basically it’s in a state of limbo, no committee, and in a vote to dissolve it 10 voted for, 10 abstained, 1 never voted.
Personally I think the problem was as per the constitution no discussion was really allowed, so at least half the room didn’t think they had enough detail to make an informed decision.
If people had been told how it had got to this position they may have had a better understanding and be able to vote with that in mind.
Just my opinion…….

Does anyone on here know that?
If so, perhaps they could enlighten the rest of us please.
