Can't Dons Action just become the official MKDSA?
I have no idea what the current MKDSA do, but Dons Action are far more visible.
What do we want a supporters' association to do? I've always said the same thing "I have no idea what they do". That's not to say they don't do anything, as always we just don't hear about it. Any efforts to make them more visible have clearly failed.
Perhaps the MKDSA should post a monthly accountability update that is published on the club website, or at the very least a link posted on social media to the MKDSA's website whenever it's published.
Obviously what people want from the official supporters' association differs from group to group.
I expect I'm in the same group as most - I want the supporters' association to constantly push for updates on key issues like the training ground and improvements re: matchday offerings for supporters (food/drink), away travel arrangements, ticket pricing.
Not just "we asked about it and this is what they said", but constantly pushing at the following meeting - "you said this last month, has there been any update?" etc.
I'd also like them to be a bit more "on the pulse". When there's clearly a topic being discussed amongst the fanbase which the club have stayed quiet on, the MKDSA should be raising them at the Supporters' Board meetings or even approaching the club as and when - things like an update on Moath (the last mention was the club were "investigating"), or concerns about the position of Liam Sweeting or Lewie etc.
That's how I'd want the MKDSA to be, maybe my expectations are too high.
