Post subject: | Your all-time favourite music videos - One per day limit |
What are your all-time favourite music videos? Share them here! It's the visual element that's more important than the song/tune here, so not your favourite songs/tunes that just happen to have the performer miming to it, or some cliché'd concert footage for the visuals. Share your favourite music videos where the visuals are as important as/more important than the songs/tunes are to you, and hopefully you'll also share some good music that's maybe new to us along the way too. One music video per day limit, and share them with a YouTube link so that we can all enjoy watching them too. I'll start things off with one of my favourites. Get By - Delta Heavy Spectrum analysers, VU meters, Waveforms etc. painstakingly made in stop-motion animation from toys & games such as Connect 4, Scrabble, Subbuteo etc. etc. over 32 days, by award-winning director Ian Robertson, and then... ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cOt9UcYGOU (148 Subbuteo men were hired for the shoot, and it took 10 hours to animate just 18 frames of the Rubik's Cube equaliser - more background here): https://www.irobertson.co.uk/getby |

We were talking about favorite videos this afternoon by coincidence. We were listening to Massive Attack as we drove around, and when Karmcoma came on I actually said that the video was a thing of wonder, which it is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi76bxT7K6U |

Goodness me - so many to choose from, but from the top of my head (and for the more mature TCRers) Godley and Creme - Cry - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a_PRcVYX7g- I'm sure one of the faces there is Robbo Peter Gabriel - the OG video creator - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJWJE0x7T4Q&ab_channel=PeterGabriel OK - indulge me - how to spend as much money as possible but still be quite fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5ebkj9x5Ko&ab_channel=DuranDuranVEVO not my favourite by a long chalk but well worth a shout! |

Childish Gambino - This Is America (this is probably top of this list but ask me again tomorrow). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYOjWnS4cMY Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It). Goddamn! Stripped back, basic and perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m1EFMoRFvY Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (iconic is an over-used word but valid here). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9rUzIMcZQ Herbie Hancock - Rockit (Godley & Creme made it I think). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHhD4PD75zY Weezer - Buddy Holly (but only if you're old enough to remember Happy Days). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kemivUKb4f4 Devo - Jocko Homo (original version). No, actually, this is the greatest pop video of all time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRguZr0xCOc |

Keep them coming tomorrow! ![]() |

Wonderful indeed!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi76bxT7K6U Here's a similarly wonderfully eccentric favourite of mine from France, which I've loved since first seeing it back when it won MTV Europe's excellent 1994 Alternative Eurovision Song Contest.
