Now, there's a thread...

Steel Pulse - Dunstable - June '79

Indeed, an excellent thread.

Either, The Blue Aeroplanes at The Pitz. No idea of the year. I'm guessing late 80's, early 90's.

Or Primal Scream, Glastonbury '92. They headlined the other stage on the Friday night. The Orb were on before them. Just as the sun began to set they played 'Little Fluffy Clouds'. The perfect setting for such a song.

Then the full force of The Primals as it began to get dark. They were so fucked that Bobby just sat on the edge of the stage, unable to sing, clapping his hands like a seal on MDMA. What a fucking gig.

I may have a few entries here, but let’s start with:

Kraftwerk - Birmingham symphony hall - 2017.

The most complete audio and visual experience I’ve ever seen and heard - literally nothing about it should work and literally everything about it does. Four balding guys in their fifties standing motionless in the centre of a stage playing repetitive and simple music while the audience sits still and watches the whole thing though 3D glasses. God it was good! And Uncle Paul was there too!

We're not having a list of the 50 best Numan gigs. You can fuck right off.

Let's start with this one

I saw Sade in 1985 at the Birmingham Odeon when they were touring the Promise album, managing to get seats in the front row of the circle right in the middle. I felt like I had been abducted and dumped on the surface of Planet Cool that night, one of those evenings where everything just seems to be top notch. Back then Sade Adu has the most amazing, silky charisma - if she had been recruiting for a cult I would have joined...
