I hadn't realised they ARE on tour
London Friday (West Ham's - rented at rip off rate, never forgive never forget but at least they are a proper football team  yawn) ground and Tues.

Just bought tickets for the Ricoh on 2nd June.

Now I know there will be some talk of 'superannuated old farts' but WTF....This is THE ROLLING STONES
For various reasons I've never actually managed to see them before. :x

I don't think I'd have enjoyed the limp wristed camp approach to many of the songs when played live in the late 60s and (to some extent) 70s - which wasn't a great period for them anyway. The Flashpoint album live from the 80s is very very good. Hope they willbe like that.

I know their combined age is about 750 but if you had to pick 'the ten best opening riffs of all time' surely Flash/Start me up/Honky tonk would be there - and a case can be made for a host of others as well.

F- it I'm looking forward to it!! :D

Start Me Up is the greatest song ever written.

I'd love to go, but I've The Bad Seeds on the 3rd. Enjoy. They've had a good review in today's Guardian.

Closely followed by You Can't Always Get What You Want and Sympathy For The Devil.
But there's so many classics: Start Me Up, Paint It Black, Street Fighting Man, Ruby Tuesday.....

You didn’t name The Immigrant Song.. surprised there tbh.

Never seen them either

I love Paint it Black and It's Only Rock N' Roll (but I like it)

Angie from the Goats Head Soup album is one of my desert island disks though

(Deep wistful sighs)

The campier they got the better they were. Their best albums were recorded in that period.

Mate, some of us like to discuss which was the best kit the Beatles wore. If you don’t like it don’t read it. ;)

The Beatles. Great band. “Good vibrations” is my favourite.
