Brix & The Extricated at Esquires, Bedford last night.

She may have a massive arse, dance like yer' Ma, and be only slightly taller than Jimmy Krankie, but, little woman that she is, she's still a woman, and she has woman's needs. The restraining order was breached, and I have photographic evidence available on request.

They were great. Only two Fall songs, Dead Beat Descendant, and as usual the wonderful Totally Wired to close the set. The bulk of the set came from their new album, some of which sounds like they came from This Nation's Saving Grace. She's still a good songwriter, and I'd still do her.

Pixies - Roundhouse. Really clinical and well performed. Some incredible highs - Gigantic was great, Where is my Mind was amazing. Some of the other stuff isn't really my thing, but they were undeniably good.

Next up - Gary Numan - Royal Albert Hall with full orchestra in a week or so.

D'you know, I thought I must have OCD, seeing the Stranglers 5 times in 7 years. But you have shown I'm a mere amateur.

You see Numan more than most men see their wives...

...I make no value judgement about that.
