I'm old enough to have seen the originals when they came out. They were shite then, still shite now.

Overblown, badly acted, far too much special effects, terrible storyline, and just plain rubbish.

That apart, brilliant.

This - Star Wars (all of 'em) are basically to film what Queen are to rock; loved by zillions but, really, overblow and just generally shite.

Happy Christmas y'all. 8-)

In your opinion.

I personally think The Godfather is pretty shite. Can’t deny it’s well made and whatever. But boring and has shit replay value.

Merry Christmas.

Can't argue with that. The Godfather, pure pish. Absolutely no idea why the constantly voted one of the greatest films ever.

Anyroad, I'm currently watching something called Bright.

I've never seen anything like this. A cross between Boyz' In The' Hood and Lord Of The Rings.

Absolutely appalling. It's basically The Rings trilogy set in modern day LA. Elves, Orcs, humans. Strangest thing I've ever seen.

Still kicks Star Wars arse though.

John Wick: Chapter 2

A film in which Keanu Reeves spends 2hrs and 2mins shooting people in the face. And I can honestly say that it has the best shooting people in the face scenes you'll ever see.

Alone in Berlin

Starring Emma Thompson and the great Brendan Gleeson. Don't think it did too well commercially or critically. But I really liked it. It's slow and drab, so I get why some would hate it. But I thought it told a strong tale about how ordinary people, with no power or influence, can still try and stand up to evil. And how an evil regime can coerce a good man into carrying out evil actions.

It's Berlin in 1940 and Thompson & Gleeson's son has just been killed fighting for Germany. Stoically and determinedly, they write a series of postcards, openly decrying the Nazi regime, which they leave in public places for others to find, hoping to try and ignite some resistance to Hitler. They are tracked by a police detective, a good man, whose goals and methods clash with his masters, when the police force comes under the control of the SS.

Needless to say, not a barrel of laughs but I really enjoyed it's exploration of the moral dilemmas people faced when confronted by evil.

7/10
