Goodness - I saw them both on that tour at the Birmingham Odeon

Sobering to think that was just about 38 years ago, and that seven months later Ian Curtis took his own life

Off to see Weezer at Wembley Arena next month, so got the back catalogue on constant rotation.

Been a fan ever since the Buddy Holly video was included on my Windows 95 cd :) :geek:

First saw them as the support band for Cheap Trick in London earlier this year - had never heard of them.
Best support band I've ever seen since I went to see Joy Division as openers for the Buzzcocks at the Rainbow in 1979.
So tight, note-perfect singing & playing, a good variety of heavy rock songs, and they work the audience superbly.
Even though I'd waited much of my life to see Cheap Trick live before they/I die, Stone Broken blew them away imho.

Bought their debut album "All In Time" on the way out of the gig.
Wow, no filler tracks!
One of those rare albums you can leave on repeat, and enjoy over and over.

Went to see them again in Cambridge last weekend, and it was another, absolutely superb gig.
The new songs previewed bode well for the 2nd album & headline tour next year.
Meanwhile, I'm off to see them live again next week, as they're supporting Living Colour on tour now :D

They deserve to be stars - don't let the fact they're from Walsall put you off...

Your signature is special.

:D

In area six, they throw bottles & bricks, and kicks... ;-)

Indeed.
Glad someone else on here witnessed the awesomeness of Ian Curtis on that tour - things couldn't have worked out better for me & my first gig as both a Joy Division & Buzzcocks fan, if not with what happened a few months later.
Joy Division set audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9hi-mwbAdw
Buzzcocks set audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzm1Rqvf8TE

Also loved seeing New Order at Bedford Boys Club in March 1981 for the princely sum of £2.50...

My daughter has my Hookey-signed poster from that gig, pride of place on her bedroom wall today... :D

Oh shit - this is area seven.

Great album. I seem to remember it was "ultra stereo" or something similar. Mucking around with the sound out of each speaker.
