Yeah he seemed genuinely irritated by one or two of the rumours.

We are very lucky to have a chairman like Pete. Nice guy, cares passionately about the club and progressing the club. I wouldn't swap him for anyone else.

My biggest takeaway is that Neilson is firmly under Pete's microscope and that this month will be crucial to Neilson's future.

We are lucky to have a chairman like PW, so I urge you not to push him too often like we have today. That he did this shows what a great guy he is but, if you believe his answers (as we all seem to be doing), then it shows that most of the rumours were unfounded or exaggerated. He hasn't come out and confirmed many of the "conspiracy" theories going about that everything was connected to Neilson. You say that PW "seemed genuinely irritated by one of two of the rumours" and you're right, which is why I say don't push him too hard too often. It worked this time but too many times and he may well start to wonder if it's worth the hassle. Very few chairman would do what he did today. Let's not take that for granted by expecting it every time we have concerns. What happened today should only happen again in extreme circumstances, imho.

I think the fact Pete and the club have gone to the trouble of a 25 minute video suggests that concerns were substantial enough from fans to justify it. Pete has calmed the storm for the moment, but results on the pitch is what matters and this month is going to be a real test for everyone. I don't think Pete would go anywhere, even under scrutiny or pressure, he's committed far too much time and effort into getting the club to where it is now.

Respect him for coming out and facing rumours and concerns head on though, it's basically what we asked for - although I hope should any further concerns or rumours get to the point where fans are signing letters/petitions, that Pete and the club will pre-empt all that once again and draw a line under things before they get out of hand. Silence from the club is almost as bad as the issues themselves.

It wasn't the most satisfactory response in the world, but it's enough and now Neilson needs to really step up as there aren't many more chances left.

I thought the whole episode was a touch unsavoury to be honest, we are lucky to have such at guy at the helm

However, think we should all move on . Game tomorrow and big game weekend

Do not recall seeing PW as "down" and "touchy/defensive" as this...but as others have said, fair play to him for this interview.

Quite a crux time for us as a club right now - things are not pretty at all - but as PW says, most clubs have had their ups and downs.

To me, comes across that PW has no intention to sack RN any time soon, but rather is backing him fully. Has put a lot of faith in him etc

A few things I've taken from that. It seems like over Lewington, he said what he had to so he didn't come across as overruling the manager, but he didn't seem 100% ok with it.
He's allayed fears over Brittain and squashed some of the things I've been told, though whether that's true or not I'm not sure.
He said Robbie has some challenging weeks. That's crucial, if he meant till the end of the season he'd have said months.
A good interview, it's calmed me a little bit but I still want Robbie out. He still hasn't spoken about a number of the issues I had in the first place.

Yes he gave his support but he also made it clear all managers are judged on results and our results aren't good enough so more a wait and see rather than a glowing endorsement.

I think it's safe to assume that if we drop into the relegation zone at any point this season then Neilson would be out.

Interesting take on what he said on "weeks" - I can see your interpretation DippyDon on that, but he seemed to indicate he will give RN a decent time and chance to prove himself. Stressed that he paid a lot to release him from his Hearts clause, and how his family have all moved to MK etc etc Just a case of seeing how things unfold now.

I would like to think that all PW said here was sincere and true. I guess none of us know for sure, but this interview is now a "marker" - and if he goes against anything he has said herein, then it will not be good for him. But I for one am hoping he has been honest here.

What an absolute Legend Pete is.

I think he went way beyond what was needed to respond so quickly, openly and directly to the fans growing frustrations. His passion and commitment is contagious, almost the opposite of Neilson's comments on 3CR that just added fuel to the fire. I'm still firmly in the Neilsonout camp for many reasons, but otherwise will always back Pete 100%
