The away game at Accrington has been suspended as well.

So just how many deadlines are the EFL going to give Bury? Time they grew a pair and expelled them from the league, Mansfield should have been promoted and taken Bury’s fixtures

Bury's potential expulsion could increase risk of League One relegation (to 4 of 23), not decrease it. Is that fair?

Better they survive and are one of the four relegated.

" If that were to happen, the EFL clarified that League One would be played with 23 rather than 24 clubs and next season an extra club would be promoted from League Two."

That can't be right, surely. It should be three plus Bury relegated / gone this season. Whoever finishes 19th will feel justifiably pissed if they end up in League Two because of all this.

Plus five promoted from L2 would mean one team finishing 8th and still being able to go up. It just seems like the far sillier option.

Yes, your suggestion looks right. I took the above quote from a Guardian article.
But efl rule 12.2.2 says that the expelled club(s) count as one of the 4 relegated clubs.
Lesson learnt, always check the source.

It's a truly horrible situation that they find themselves in. Having the piss taken out of them for their hubris. Bet taking the mickey out of Blackpool and Bolton was funny at the time. Not so funny now.

I'm not taking the piss at all. I feel terrible for the Bury fans. And Bolton. And anyone else whose club has or might cease to exist. (Except maybe Luton).

It looked like it could have happened to my 'first' club recently - who knows, still might. Definitely makes me appreciate PW and the way we are run.

When they played Blackpool, they held up a banner taking the piss out of their situation in regards to the Oystons. They did likewise with Bolton. They were quite happy when their ex-chairman was ploughing £4.2m in to their club that he couldn't afford. Fuck them. Let them go bust. I have zero sympathy with them. It's way beyond time that the EFL stopped fucking about and finished this debacle.

Rangers shouldn’t have been allowed to reform either.

Oh, I see. I had no idea about any of that Gers.

Still, I do feel sorry for them - I am sure the majority of the Bury fans don't share the sentiments of those behind the banner. And what fan doesn't enjoy the highs when money is flowing and games are being won - it still doesn't mean they necessarily deserve the lows or to lose their club and league place.
