Dear all
On March 18th myself and Mr Bootsie set off on our 2nd charity kayak Challenge. We are calling this one ‘Seaside to the Seasiders’: Kayaking for the kids at Keech.
On March 18th we will get into our Kayaks at the Wash (Lincolnshire) and paddle both the tidal and locked River Nene, join the Grand Union Canal and arrive in MK in time to see Blackpool on March 24th.
Last time we raised a little short of £7000 and paddled 67 miles and traversed 81 Lock’s......this time there is only 38 locks
...but it’s 130 or so miles
We are raising money for the children’s services at Keech Hospice Care. Keech provide inpatient care, but also support 100s of children (and their families) with life limiting illnesses at any given time in the community. They provide both types of service for children from Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. We visited Keech just before Christmas and witnessed the wonderful care they give...and....what we saw ‘brought the message home’ for us.
We have raised approximately £3,500 already and have a few weeks to go of course. We will have a presence at the next Family Fun Day on the March 17th (the day before we set off) with lots of raffle prizes, are fundraising via Just Giving and will be running an auction via our Facebook pages ( prizes to be announced....but, believe you me....there will be some good ones)
Please do support us if you can.
