As long as it pisses off the KFC deserters, then we should keep it.

Because as we know, they're all ladybits.

Its creating bitterness and doing more harm than good for the new young generation of fans imo

Why? What has it to do with anyone else what we are called?

I explained above why already

No you haven't , you have just said the young fans have no connection with Wimbledon, which really depends on them. What they do have is a connection with MK Dons. What bitterness / harm is it causing young fans?

As we see in the media and other clubs there is a clear hatred towards the club because of continued connection with Wimbledon. So this is used to try and humiliate dons fans. You must of seen this? On the other hand MK Dons has created its own history along the way and has made its own identity with the dons name and may just cause further upset amongst fans.

Hatred is going too far, except in the warp mind of a certain south london club and I haven't seen it affect player transfers etc. So what if certain fans and people in the media don't like us? I really don't understand the last part, are you saying that MK Dons own history is creating upset amongst fans? Our current situation is, but I think we can be proud of the history we have made.

When I used to have a wireless show many moons ago, our first ever guest, on out first ever show was Karl, Don't Call Him Fat, Robbo.

I asked him if the history of the club ever effected transfers etc'. His answer...

"Never".

I meant that changing the name or dropping 'Dons' from the name might cause upset due to it being used for quite a long time now and the history that has been made in the meantime.

The problem is 'drop the Dons' has always been a very small, vocal campaign which, apart from a select few who have their own reasons for doing it (benign but selfish reasons) just cannot get any traction. Even with Siobhain McDonangh MP on board it failed to get anywhere. In fact, it proved how vain and self-centered the whole exercise was/is.
The simple fact is 'Dons' is part of our name and is as integral to it as Wanderers is to Bolton or Athletic is to Charlton/Oldham. The majority just don't care about whether we keep it or drop it. The campaign to drop it is a busted flush and always will be.

I can see a scenario where an investor insisted we dropped the Dons as a condition for their investment. This could either because they wanted to incorporate part of their brand name in the title or because they saw "Dons" being slightly toxic in terms of their brand association. Hope it doesnt happen though.

Even then Pete has promised it will only happen with the majority of the fans agreeing to it. A big ask.

So they call us a Franchise, and dropping the Dons to incorporate a sponsors name would not start that all over again?
