The Real Madrid tour is the best I have been on.

Would have done it but the tour is quite restricted atm because of the redevelopment work.

Went to Madrid last November.
Not very nice in the 'main bit'; dirty, graffiti and rubbish everywhere, a lot of beggars.
It wasn't warm (I know, what was I expecting in November?) but I might as well have gone to Deptford or Brentford. :(

Are you sure you aren't describing Barcelona?

I spent four days in Madrid last week and it was relatively clean and tidy for a big city, especially the Metro system (although there were plenty of beggars).

Curiously I found Barcelona much 'nicer'/cleaner but I have to admit that was 3 years ago. I will say that there was a problem with sewerage and the whole road our hotel was in - just off that main drag down to the beach - was in various stages of being dug up and the smell of poo poo was ghastly. 24/7. :(

Thank goodness our privatised water authorities here do things differently.

Barca has a ton of graffitti, like most major European cities. But it's a fantastic place. And it's on the beach!

I hate Barcelona city centre. It's full of graffiti, pickpockets and Instawanker tourists, and it stinks of jazz cabbage.

And yet I'm going in September for MotoGP for the fifth time because it's the cheapest European race to do with good weather.
