Back here on loan. Likely to be out for much of it with injury.

Really can't see why we've done this after signing Tymon and with Lewie and Tilney back, unless he's signing on a permanent deal in the summer as he's out of contract with Bristol then.

Maybe a bit faster than Lewie at the moment, but Golbourne will be 30 by the end of the season. Not old, but wouldn't think he would be first choice for any more than a season at best.

As pointless as they come. Cannot for the life of me understand why there’s any need. Whether we sign him in the summer or not I don’t care. Complete waste of a deal unless he’s back in 6 weeks. Which he isn’t.

I'm so confused. Why have we signed a player on loan who is set to be injured for the rest of the season?

I can only assume it has something to do with us signing him permanently in the summer, otherwise this is beyond weird.

Perhaps he asked Bobby to get Galloway and Bobby thought he said Golbourne.

Are we paying his wages? That would be weird.

Or perhaps he heard that Cobblers are collecting left backs and he didn't want to be outdone. :D

The OS article link below.
I think this is a brilliant move and indicates that the Club is thinking beyond the immediate. Goldbourne wants to be here, we will not keep Tyman after the end of the season and I assume the assumption is that we will get Goldbourne on a permanent at the end of the season, rehabilitation allowing. Also he’ll keep Walsh company in the treatment room!
The article just says we have ‘come to an agreement’ with Bristol City. This may include picking up his wages, while we do the recovery.

We better not be picking up his wages, I fear this will be Rob Hall all over again

Looks odd on the face of it. Maybe it was agreed before his injury and were honouring that commitment?
