The (unpleasant) truth is that we do indeed have a number of our ‘yoof’ who go in for pre-arranged meets. We can pretend it is not so - but it is . I do worry, perhaps unnecessarily, that one day they are going to meet a proper ‘firm’ and ... well you can judge for yourself how they might fare in that sort of situation :(

I got into Northampton pretty early on Saturday and went to that O'Neills you can see on the video. There was a ridiculous amount of police in town from about 10:45. TVP were with them and came in twice whilst we had breakfast.

Said to my friend they must be expecting something round the centre, so wasn't surprised to see this video.

Funnily enough we were in a group of 6 and had 2 police officers stationed outside the pub we eventually settled in for about an hour.

Wasn't a relaxing session to be honest. :?

The police guided people to the town centre as opposed to straight to the ground. My understanding is to avoid Northampton fans and to get to the ground for kickoff which is what happened.

I have absolutely no clue why there was a need for such a big police presence, we’ve been to Northampton many times over the past 5/6 years and have never had that before?

I remember when we came out of the ground there were police dogs everywhere and there seemed to be some trouble. Not seen that level of police presence at a match, although I'm still relatively new to this away match malarkey.

It's often triggered by intelligence gathered before the game (such as social media arrangements for meets). No idea if that's the case with this game though. Maybe plod just fancied a day out.

Yeah I know. But I wasn’t expecting anything like that. Perhaps if they tried talking to them maybe they’d get to know them ;)

I don't need people to know me in order to behave.
