Tweeted yesterday that he was at s:mk.

I’ve got to say, I was surprised at the amount of abuse he got. I’ve always thought most of us remember him reasonably fondly as a bit part player in a successful team and scoring the pen that took us to Wembley. I underestimated the strength of feeling about him going on to play for AFC. :o

I hate that lot as much as the next man but was never that upset over him playing there.. hardly a club stalwart for us, short career, his level at the time etc.

I guess the kids dishing out abuse on Twitter “Hate Kingston More Than Me” :o

A donkey. Much better suited to the pub team, than to that wonderful team we had back then.

To be fair my tweet at him was a joke, looked back earlier on and realised that it could be seen as abuse so deleted it. His spell there was about a month or so and as a non/lower league journeyman it was likely he’d probably end up there at that time.

Also capped off by the fact they wrote a fake interview on their site when he signed which he denied he said any of what they put. Something along the lines of “I know what this clubs about and what they stand for, it’s good to be at a proper club” or something daft like that. He’s a good bloke.

Think his other half runs a salon in Stony.

Missed a trick not opening it in Broughton.

He did a job for us, chasing defenders and softening them up. We got a fair amount of late winners.

But that penalty was truly epic.

This is important. Hats off to the bloke, he gets a lot of stick from us because he played for them on loan, but I can't hate him for sending us to Wembley, the day that made me truly fall for the club as a 12 year old.

Good article. I’ve seen some of his talks, very revealing.

It doesn’t hurt for us all to be reminded that these guys are human beings.

I never had a problem with him going to AFC. The bloke has got to earn a living. He wasn’t a rich man and his career was nearly over. I wish him all the best.
