Is Stadium MK a complete white elephant? Too big, no atmosphere, must cost a fortune to run. Add in the ongoing losses, and we might as well pack up and sell it to the Saints.
Know the limits and settle.

A small hockey ground would be about right.

You are aware that there wouldn’t be Football in Milton Keynes if Pete had presented his plans to the FAbfor something vaguely representing Sixfields, Colchester, Chesterfield or Shrewsbury, right?

“Cost a fortune to run It”

Good job that’s interMK’s concern then...

300 beds at 95% occupancy tells me they’re doing just fine..

Revealing yourself as a troll after only 3 posts?
2/10 for effort, must try harder

Well, I was about to post the same thought. But I like to give folk the benefit of the doubt.

I'm only amazed that there hasn't been more of them.

He's a foot lover from the hotel end forum.

Pretty basic level understanding of MK Dons would know the football only contributes to the stadium. The numerous other businesses cover the running of it.

Don't know where the idea of "ever increasing losses" came from.

Not what I was told by an industry insider on Friday...

For SMK to be a white elephant, it has to lose money on all sporting fronts that are able to be hosted there, not just football. It not only proves that it can do that (the Northampton rugby matches that were played there for instance) but proves it can handle a 21k crowd (Man Utd and Chelsea games) and that it can offset the losses it may incur. It's also versatile, easy to manage and has a team of dedicated staff for its upkeep.
That's as far removed from a 'white elephant' as anything.
