Looks as if Neilson isn’t the only manager to allegedly fall out and banish players.

“Charlton boss Karl Robinson says he has made a decision on Nicky Ajose’s future.

The striker returned to the Addicks this week, with the club yet to officially end his season-long loan with Bury.

The Shakers don’t want to pay Ajose’s wages, which could present the striker with a chance to play for the Addicks again.

However, Robinson was coy over his Valley future.

He told News Shopper: “Bury didn't want him - they're still paying his wages I believe.

“He’s back training [with us] this week and maybe next week while we decide what the future is for him. That’s it really. He won’t play on Saturday.

“I’ve already made a decision [on his future] and he knows that.

“Remember all these players had an opportunity to stay at the beginning of the season. So decisions were made when my plate was clean and every slate was clean.

“People thought pastures new or the grass was greener. I’m honest with them - they know where they all stand.

“He has to work hard and people have to prove themselves to me now. Now there are bridges to be rebuilt and I’m not willing to help build them.

“Again from a humanistic perspective you have to show respect and I will show respect always. I do things in the heat of the moment but I’ll always apologise if I've disrespected somebody.”

Only KR could get 'humanistic' into a football press conference.

Guy makes footballing mistake and another guy won’t burn bridges and forgive him. Love that.

It seems patience is running extremely thin at the Valley atm, their lot are quickly turning on him - surprising really as they’re not too far away from th play offs and have constantly moaned about the unstable manager situation at their club - fickle footy fans I guess.

He’s red hot favourite for the Oxford job though, a few on their forum seem to think it’s a done deal.

Their chairman said last week th new manager would have the ‘wow factor’...

Interesting move though, if he switches. Suppose it’s closer to home..

Classic Robollocks.

Maybe he has been reading up on Renaissance cultural movements which turned away from medieval scholasticism and revived interest in ancient Greek and Roman thought?
Or meant to say Humanosity... ;)

Nah, familiarity breeds contempt... ;)

My manager at work is an Oxford fan and seems adamant that Robbo will be their new boss. I think that one makes total sense.

From Oxford's point of view it does, definitely. He's a good manager and I think their last manager was trying to play Robboball so the players there should be suited to it.
But I can't see what Charlton get out of hounding Robbo out - and he must be leaving for that reason as I can't imagine he started the season expecting to jump ship to a slightly smaller team, with a much smaller ground, who are lower down in the league.
I'm sure Robbo would have preferred to stay at Charlton if he felt he would be given the time to turn things around when their injured players returned.
But Charlton's loss is Oxford's gain.

Probably an easier commute from MK ?

I don’t think the commute is much an issue. You can’t get a more easier commute than MK to Charlton as a professional football manager who doesn’t wanna relocate.

Maybe he just wants more control with how things work. Youth setup, transfers, bringing his own people in etc.
