Is there anything ironic about the BBC choosing to include a picture of the incident as part of the article or is that just me being overly cynical?

I used to work beside this guy who's partner rolled their car one morning. She rings him while we're still in the office. Him and one of the office staff drive from Dunstable to Leighton Buzzard, where the crash happened. She wasn't hurt.

While the police and ambulance staff dealt with her, he's taking pictures and uploading them to Facebook.

I’ve stopped at the side of a motorway with a vehicle on fire - huge flames. There were a number of people filming it on their phones.

Not a moral issue. - but I was treated to a birthday surprise at a Michelin starred restaurant. There were people in the restaurant taking photos of their food when it arrived - presumably to impress their friends on Twitter or Facebook.

Tis the modern way, I suppose.

Someone who used to be a 'friend' of my wife on FB used to post a picture of every evening meal. Every night. Bowl of pasta? Picture. Egg, beans and chips? Picture. Relentlessly. She was either a genius or a mentalist but, either way, my missus decided to defriend her, or whatever you do on there to dump them.

Someone I've mentioned on another thread who's a 9/11 conspiracy theorists does exactly that. In fact not only that, he posts pictures of every stage of the cooking process.
You'd think he'd have more to do worring about what the CIA are up to.

Yes, I accept it's visual medium but they could have had a picture from the station, or of an Italian ambulance or something

All part of the increasingly voyeuristic world we now live in - we are rightly happy to condemn the behaviour of this numpty but want to see it anyway, completely overlooking the privacy and dignity of the victim
