Never a fan of Friends, in fact I’ve never watched a single episode, but irrespective of that 54 is no age to go is it!

The only reason I’m mentioning this is that I’ve just read his obituary in The Guardian where he’s quoted as saying how much he disliked folk coming up to him and calling him Chandler. Worth having a look on social media this morning where almost everyone I know are calling him the aforementioned Chandler.

I guess being so strongly associated with a single role is indeed a blessing and a curse.

I didn't watch is so much as I got older, but in its prime as a kid I watched that show religiously. And Chandler was probably my favourite. It's sad news and really put a gloomy mood on my Sunday morning.

As for the typecast/one role thing - it must be horrible especially when there's other work you're proud of. Robert Downey Jr is forever Iron Man but he's got so much more about him

Very sad. Fantastic actor and played a character I've always identified with.

Real struggles with addiction, which just go to show that nobody gets everything in life. You can earn a million dollars an episode but that doesn't necessarily make life any easier.

This was very sad, although not completely unexpected, news.

I love a lot of the 70's and 80's UK sitcoms, but my favourite 90's/00's sitcoms were some of the biggest US ones - Friends, Frasier and Seinfeld. Chandler was always one of my favourite characters from those, and Matt Perry was fantastic in the role.

It's a shame he had such trouble with addictions, and very sad that he's died so young.

Thanks, Keyser.
I wasn't really hiding it, but did figure only you might know that PG often went by 'Plum'. :)
