World Of Sport era wrestler 'Exotic' Adrian Street has died at 82.

For folk of a certain vintage, those in their early 60's like me for example, the Kent Walton wrestling on Saturday afternoon was quite literally appointment telly. If Rangers were away, me and my dad used to absolutely love watching it. Jackie Pallo, Mick McManus, my own personal favourite Kendo Nagasaki, Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks. They were all brilliant. But the strangest, and most disturbing, was Adrian Street. Looking like a cross between Gary Glitter and a bricklayer, he played the bad guy role to the hilt. He's most famous for his bout with the odious Jimmy Saville. He disliked Saville so much that he actually didn't hold back, and really kicked the shit out of him. Saville never wrestled again.

You may not know him by name, but you'll know the famous picture of him and his coal miner father standing at the pit head. His father just emerging from a shift down the pit, Street in full glam-rock mode. It's a fantastic picture. And if I only knew how to, I'd post it below. But I don't, so I won't.

Yes. Remember him.
Do you think he 'knew' about Saville? And hence the treatment he gave him. We all know how pantomime these things usually were (I saw Big Daddy and someone else v Giant Haystacks and King Kong Kirk at the Derngate years ago - great theatre!) This clearly wasn't.
