Another privatisation success....
Debts of - did I hear right? - £18bn.
How much paid to shareholders over the years?
How much sh*t pumped into our rivers?
How much will taxpayers have to bail it out for?
Dear lawd.
FFS.

Still...Starmer will be worse.
Shut up, don't complain - you might get tax cuts - although you won't be able to see your doctor easily (and your dentist? Forget him/her altogether) the potholes in the road won't get repaired, your kids' school will continue to crumble, mental health support can 'go hang' (if you want it, go pay for it), don't get old as the care homes are not in place despite the 'oven ready' solution that Boris promised us in 2019.
Shut up/don't complain/kill the poor.
Repeat.
Repeat.
Repeat.

Re nationalise all the utilities, they’re all in it to make money and couldn’t give a shit about the end user.

If I had my way there wouldn't be any dividend until they fixed the mess, the directors would be arrested for misappropriation of mones and the main polluters would pay a penalty which could be used for investment. I would democratise Ofwat too.

It seems Labour will go for some Social Purpose' vehicle

IMO This doesn't go far enough. There should be at least 51% public ownership.

Maybe, but be careful not to bring back monopolies controlled by Unions.

It shouldn't do as other stakeholders would also be included. Meanwhile

I can't see how anyone can defend the current regime.

Once privatisation was finished the Tories over saw the biggest continual suppression of real time wage increases in history, maybe those Unions were doing a lot more good for people than anyone realised and some will ever recognise.

With all the health problems I've had I'm mighty glad to have had a union that had negotiated adequate sick pay rates (in excess of the statutory minimum) and was there to support me on a day to day basis when (I'll just say) things were difficult.
