Am I the only one who thinks Nando’s is relatively well priced? It’s fresh and not frozen. Tastes fucking good (I’ve never had a bad experience) and fills you up. Better than other shitholes like Frankie and Bennies.

I feel your pain. My friends and I were having a similar discussion only a few days ago. And there wasn't a single one of us whose parents were "involved" in our daily lives to the extent of our in-laws.
It seems it's our cross to bear. :(

Disconcerting moment #1

The current Mrs Gers and her mother go out shopping. I'm left with Mrs Gers father.

I pop off to the loo. Come back into the livingroom, he's not there, but the front door is wide open.

Now, I'm not panicking, yet! Find him in the front drive looking for the loo. Horrible thing dementia.

To talk to him you'd think that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. Can hold a conversation about old films, talk about art, still has an opinion on the sectarian division in Glasgow. But he mistook my son for his cousin, and he's got it in his mind that he's permanently cold. Nothing we can do will convince him that the house is absolutely boiling. There's a heat haze in the kitchen. Folk are passing out for lack of water.

Honestly want someone to shoot me if I ever get it.

My mum has it only much worse, it’s almost cruel to watch, she’s in a care home and has to be hoisted in and out of bed. Agree with you, I would rather be dead. I’m sure I will have it someday if I haven’t already begun, memory span of a goldfish nowadays. :(

They currently live in Scotland, but are hoping to move to MK. Which is why they're here this weekend.

My mother in law was telling me that he can become so disoriented that he gets quite violent. But like I already said, to talk to him he appears perfectly normal. He couldn't find something recently, and called the police, who apparently were brilliant with him when they turned up.

It's a truly horrible disease.

Bringing your entire family to the pub and then letting your kids run around screaming, pissing people off and getting in the way.

It's as annoying as it is council.
