To give another example. England's goal last night was confirmed by VAR to have just crossed the line, but only just. A simulation similar to Hawkeye then showed the ball a good 6 inches past the line.

To reiterate, I am not saying it should not be used, but maybe we should accept that it may not necessary be any better than human capability.

Bearing in mind that on the previous page of this thread, you said that it's unclear that technology is more accurate than humans, on the sole basis of one incident you've seen on the telly or the news?

It happened again in the men's doubles last night. In this case because the umpire doubted it was actually in, he played a let.

I just think there should be a properly researched investigation to prove one way or another if technology is actually better than humans. Maybe it is, let's check.

We will never have 100% accuracy, even the TV screens and images we use to 'prove' things only have a certain level of detail and are subject to their own distortions. However as I said earlier in the thread technology is impartial and widely shown to be more accurate and that is what sets it above human decision making on line calls.
