How's everyone doing?

We've lost three slates from our roof. Half of my fence is completely gone, and three or four panes of glass from our greenhouse on our allotment are goners.

It's still incredibly windy, so I'll be amazed if that's all we get.

Sorry to hear that.

Over here in SG19 approx. 40 miles or so east of MK, the fence is still up and although one tree is swaying & cracking the ground around its trunk a bit more than I'd like, it's so far so good here, and the wind appears to be easing off slightly now.

I guess the strongest winds are/have been elsewhere on this occasion - we've had fences & trees down previously in other storms over the past 20+ years since we've been here, so this one doesn't feel close to the worst we've been through luckily, at least over here anyway.

Hope everyone else is ok.

As for the naming of this storm, I just can't help thinking about this character from one of our favorite films every time I hear the name Eunice

Home wise, nothing much, bins blown over, bird table has bit the dust and a few twigs blown off branches.

I’ve been out in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire earlier and seen several trees down, one road from Brackley to Buckingham blocked by a downed tree.

M40 was like a wind tunnel as well

I've just walked the dogs around Stony, and there's surprising little damage. A couple of trees down, and a fair few fences, but that apart we've gotten off pretty lightly.

My fence could've been doing with being replaced anyway. But I've just checked online and as usual the price of panels has more than doubled since lockdown.

I don't think it's been as bad as we were expecting. Our weather station at work in South Northants touched 62mph briefly, but it's been registering 20-35mph for most of the day.
And it was nice driving home, not much traffic about.

Same here I'm near the (central) station and we seem to have gotten away with it.

We've been fine although the wind has sounded pretty extreme throughout the day battering the house, a few things blown over in the garden but not damaged as such

OFD Junior's other half had to drive to Surrey, Oxford, Silverstone and Northampton today and managed OK, but twice had to stop to help other motorists drag trees off the road

A few fence panels neighbouring gardens went - we lost some in the big winds in 2014 and replaced with concrete pillars which have held firm, so a big Phew! there

I had to drive a convoluted journey on the evening of the Great Storm of 1987. That was far worse. "But you tell the young people of today that and they don't believe you". ;)

*sighs* just realised that three of these men are dead.
