It makes one proud to be British, the scientific prowess that we possess.

Within just a couple of days of the Omicron variant presenting itself as a potential risk, they've managed to work out that it's highly contagious in shops and on buses and trains - but not in pubs, nightclubs, football grounds, concerts, churches, mosques, synagogues, Nativity plays or anywhere else.

Fair play to them for working that out so quickly.

Our scientific prowess should indeed make you proud. We produced the ‘gold standard’ vaccine that is now being used across the world, including those places that the G20 countries tend to think of as an afterthought.

Omicron is likely to be highly transmissible in all those venues you mentioned. The decision will have been based on science. Behavioural science.

Sadly I think the only behavioural science is conning the population into thinking they are being responsive whilst also pretending they are not about to enter a lockdown. It has been an impressive 18 months.

Something I am more than happy to join in with, with absolutely no evidence whatsoever, this apparent new strain is deadlier and easily spread.

This controlling of peoples lives, livelihoods and mental health needs to stop.

We have to live with it, not keep hiding away, get jabbed and get on with your lives
