On a lighter (musical) note from all this deep manager debate, Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff is hosting All Star Musicals tonight, a show where celebrities sing opera songs.
Three points to make:
1. It sounds a pile of piss.
2. Why on earth have they chosen Freddie Flintoff to present it? He's not even a presenter, let alone having any connection to musicals.
3. Most importantly for me, isn't it better when sporting legends retire gracefully? I know he was always a bit of a "character", but he was a bloky character that you could respect. Apparently he does a bit of singing and dancing on it FFS! :x
I much prefer sporting legends to retain their dignity when they retire.
Apropos of nothing, but I feel a bit better for getting it off my chest. Very cathartic.
Won't be watching.

True. Although it's been established since time immemorial that some ways are more honourable than others. I think it's sad when respected sportsman turn themselves into "celebrity characters" with little showbiz talent and pop up on all kinds of silly shows. Much better when they become managers, commentators, etc, and retain their dignity.
